Reviews For Angel of Windword!

REVIEWS FOR ANGEL OF WINDWORD!
COLD COFFEE MAGAZINE
Maggie Dove writes a wonderful debut novel in a style similar to that of famed romance writer Judith McNaught with intelligent writing and well developed characters, no pun intended. She deftly builds on the much used “girl forced into marriage with a man she does not know while she has a true love from childhood that she must leave behind” and weaves a tale that is gripping and fresh. That the hero and heroine do fall in love is no surprise and exactly what every romance reader wants. That she builds the murder mystery to a very suspenseful end that keeps the reader guessing throughout the tale is rewarding to the reader and a testament to Dove’s writing skill. She even pokes fun at the frivolity of romance novels with excerpts from a book author supposed to be the rage in London and beyond at the time. Look for Maggie Dove’s name on the bestsellers list in the future. These 242 pages could have been 500 and the reader would be left wanting more…

5 Bookmarks Review from Mind Fog Reviews!
“Angel of Windword” by Maggie Dove keeps you enthralled every minute with the twists and turns provided by her writings. Set in the late 1800s and early 1900s Angelique discovers her true love after many trials and tribulations some of which you would never expect to happen. Ms. Dove’s descriptions and conversations are not boorish to say the least. The conversations and descriptions match the era depicted. I would love to see any other writings that Ms. Dove has to offer readers.“Angel of Windword” reads like a “feature presentation” on a movie channel such a Lifetime. I recommend this 5 bookmark rated novel for any reader of romance. 5 Bookmarks.

You Gotta Read (Highest Rating) from You Gotta Read Reviews!
When Angelique's ruthless stepmother agrees to wed her to Viscount Nicholas Kent, Angelique is horrified. In love with another man, Henri Bertrand, she is determined to elope with her beloved and leave Nicholas at the aisle. Nicholas and Angelique can't deny the growing attraction between them. Her father's death, her mother's morals and children of unknown origin color her emotions. In the end, what the Angel of Windword doesn't know may cost her life. Full of suspense, steamy scenes and intrigue this book will leave you stunned. Nicholas is the perfect dashing debonair gentleman of regency stature, while Angelique is his perfect match. Maggie Dove is an excellent spinner of the literary web and I enjoyed this book immensely. Definitely one you've gotta read.

A WONDERFUL NEW AUTHOR IN THE MAKING, October 22, 2009
By
Tabitha Shay "book haven" (Poteau, Ok USA) In Angel of Windword, Angelique Beauvisage is slow to realize she's surronded by evil forces and is embroiled in a murder that pulls her into a mystery she'd rather not be involved in.If you love historicals, then this sensuous, suspenseful romance is the perfect book for you. It has it all: Good romance, intrigue, mystery, a heroine to cheer for and a hero to die for. There are enough suspenseful moments to keep the reader flipping the pages to see what happens next and thank heavens, there's more to come. I'm looking forward to the next book in this historical trilogy by new author, Maggie Dove, and I predict we'll see a lot more wonderful books from Miss Dove in the future.

Today I Feel As If I Just Won The Oscars!

October 7th, 2009—finally! WOOHOO—LAUNCH DAY!!!!!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EternalPressReaders/

Today, I feel as though I’ve just won the Oscar and I am standing in front of a room full of beautiful people, but instead of holding the little statue of the bald, golden man—I’m proudly holding a copy of my novel, ANGEL OF WINDWORD, in my hand.

This is wonderful! The best part is that I can speak all I want and not have the sound of music interrupting me in the background when they feel I’ve been talking too long. Also, here in cyber space, Kanye West is not around to interrupt me!

Ofcourse, I look great in my Carolina Herrera gown and having lost those 21 pounds which I’ve been trying to lose for 10 years, I’ve never looked better. After I thank, my grandmother, who is now in Heaven, but that was an avid reader of romance, my mother, my sisters, my nieces, my cousins, my friends and dedicate the night to my husband and two children, who are sitting in the crowd and staring at me with wonder and love in their eyes, I acknowledge the presence of my wonderful colleagues, who are sharing the spotlight today: Mary Corrales, Roxanne Rhoads, Teel James Glenn, Shelley Dayton, Graeme S. Houston, Heather Kuehl and A.J. Ryan!

After much applause, I continue, “I want to thank the authors and readers of Eternal Press, the loveliest people I’ve ever encountered. I feel proud to be amongst you guys! I would like to thank Ally Robertson for making all this possible. I would like to thank Candace Clayton for being such a great mediator; Dianna Rubino for being such a great editor; Adrienne Morris, the wonderful copyeditor, for all her hard work on Angel of Windword, and Sheryl for all of her promotional work on my behalf! I would especially like to thank Amanda Kelsey for the most beautiful cover art I’ve ever seen! I couldn’t be happier with my cover. Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank Lisa Logan. Lisa, I’ll be “eternally” grateful to you for making me a published author!”

After enjoying the standing ovation, I walk away with Sean Connery. (This may date me a little, but I still think that he is the sexiest man alive!)

Angel of Windword by Maggie Dove Excerpt #1

His thunderous expression softened. “Come closer.”
His eyes swept over her face as he caressed her cheek with the knuckle of his forehand. “I did not see her slap you, but your cheeks look burning hot. Answer something for me, Angelique” he ordered gruffly. “Has that woman ever hit you before?”
Angelique drank in the comfort of his nearness. His touch was soft and soothing. “Never,” she lied. “Victoria has never slapped me or hurt me. My lord, it was really my fault...I provoked her.”
He definitely will have his way with me and my place will be in his bed!
Mon Dieu! A guttural sound escaped her lips when she recalled her own words. She was not certain whether she was more distressed at having thrown those awful words at her stepmother or the dreadful possibility that Nicholas had actually overheard them.
Attempting to sound nonchalant, she stammered Victoria’s original question to him, “H-how long had you been standing there, monsieur? Did you...did you hear anything?” she asked in a faint whisper, her voice cracking with embarrassment.
“Hear what, my love?’ he asked innocuously.
“Monsieur, how long had you been standing there?” she repeated with mounting dread. Then gazing at him, she suddenly wished she had not asked. His dark blue eyes sparkled with complete understanding as he stood casually against the doorjamb, strong arms folded across his chest, a devil of a smile beginning to form on his face.
“How long, monsieur…?”
Nicholas did not wait for her to finish. Without another word, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her hard on the lips. Then, just as suddenly, he let go of her, allowing her to fall back against the doorpost.
“Long enough to know I’m going to enjoy those willful ways of yours. Not to mention putting you in that bed of mine.”
Her heart pounding fast against her heaving chest, Angelique watched in stunned silence as Nicholas turned on his heel and made his exit. She could still feel his warm lips against hers as his deep, masculine chuckles echoed in the hallway.

ANGEL OF WINDWORD

Maggie Dove sold her first novel, ANGEL OF WINDWORD!

Evil forces are at play surrounding Angelique Beauvisage, but she has no clue. Sensuous and suspense-filled, ANGEL OF WINDWORD, begins with a murder that takes place four years before and turns into a perilous cat and mouse game played by two reluctant lovers, who spin a web of deception that only their love can unravel. This page-turning, often amusing, historical romance set in late nineteen century France and England is an exciting adventure a reader finds hard to put down.
Forced into a loveless marriage with the deliciously handsome viscount, Nicholas Kent, by her stepmother, Victoria Montclair, Angelique pretends to go along with the charade, while making plans of her own to elope with her childhood sweetheart, Henri. As fate would have it, all plans are off when Angelique and Nicholas fall in love and marry. But the idyllic romance takes a turn as she becomes the pawn of a murderous scheme. Having traded the blissful existence of her beloved Loire Valley, Angelique finds that Windword Hall has more than one villainous skeleton in the closet.

ANGEL OF WINDWORD is my first novel, and the first of the WINDWORD trilogy. At this time, I am writing the prequel to ANGEL OF WINDWORD, titled CALL ME DUCHESS, with two characters from my original manuscript set in 1870 England. I am also plotting my third novel, titled THE ENGLISH MARQUESA set in 1870 Spain.ANGEL OF WINDWORD will be published by ETERNAL PRESS this coming fall!
